Allan Jenkins
I was born and raised in South Carolina, then moved to Denmark in 1984.
After a stint as a direct-marketing copywriter, I moved to McKinsey & Company, a management consultancy, to be senior communication specialist. I provided communication counsel to McKinsey teams and clients throughout northern Europe. I spent several months in McKinsey's Australian office. And I served 3 years on McKinsey's worldwide training faculty for new consultants, where I learned (and taught) how successful business depends on successful communication.
In the early 1990s, I helped found Communication Alliance, an innovative Copenhagen communication agency. In 1995, we became the first agency in Europe to counsel clients on how to take advantage of online communication; and in 1996, we created Europe's first interactive financial services website.
In 1997, I joined Novo Nordisk, a leader in pharmaceuticals and bioindustrial enzymes. I led the corporation's online communications efforts, helping develop online presences in 55 markets.
From 1999-2001, I helped build and explode the dot-com bubble by leading one web agency through merger and too-rapid expansion, and serving as practice leader for healthcare and communities in another agency. Along the way, I learned I am happiest, and best at, coaching and advising clients - and learned that most web and ad agencies are peopled by some of the worst communicators on the planet.
Since 2001, I've been helping clients on both sides of the Atlantic listen and converse more effectively with the people they should be listening to and conversing with.
